The Pembrokeshire Coast Path
This magnificent trail runs between the villages of St Dogmael's in the north and Amroth in the south and follows the coastline of the Pembrokeshire National Park through some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Britain. For much of the time the path keeps to the cliff tops, providing superb views of the cliffs, beaches, offshore stacks and islands with their abundant birdlife. Each turn in the path reveals something different - a little harbour, an attractive village, a Neolithic cromlech, Bronze Age standing stones, Iron Age promontory forts, a church or chapel of the Celtic saints and their followers or a castle built by Norman invaders.
We are midway along the section from St Dogmaels to Newport - 13 miles of the most spectacular cliff walking, rising to over 500 ft with dramatic folding rock strata offering stunning far reaching views.

This part
of the trail passes through some of
the wildest and most
ruggedly beautiful parts of the National Park and the highlight must be
the Witches' Cauldron (above), a magnificent rocky bay which seems to
have been cut into the cliffs and is just a short walk from here.
Of course you don't have to walk the whole path, there are many small and wonderful sections within easy reach of here, and we can arrange lifts to and from walks. There is also the Poppit Rocket bus service which runs between Fishguard and Cardigan, and stops right outside our door. For those walking the whole or larger parts of the path we are at a convenient stopping off point and can transport luggage forward to your next destination.
More walking opportunities
Just a 15 minute drive from here are the wild and mystical Preseli Hills. With a high point a little over 1700 ft, they are fairly gentle as Welsh hills come, but they are great to walk in offering spectacular views of the coast and countryside, particularly from Cerrig Lladron from where it is said you can see all the way to Ireland on a clear day . The Preselis are steeped in history with ancient forts, burial chambers and outcrops of the famous Bluestones - and have a haunting, mystical quality which adds to their allure.

If you prefer river valleys we have the Gwaun and the Teifi valleys close by. The former is renowned for its beauty, running from the Preselli Hills to Fishguard. We also have ancient woodlands, Tycanol, and the Pengelli Forest - lovely places in which to wander. .
